I think I was trying for textures with this photo. Whatever I was thinking at the time is irrelevant.

A friend of mine was writing a book which involves a lot of darkroom techniques, and she asked me to teach her some stuff. We rented a darkroom and I selected a bunch of images we took together.

We chose this particular one to play with liquid light and projected it on plates, ping pong bats, and more or less anything we could get our hands on, so she could see how it works.

It looked great on everything as the background did not always appear perfectly.

I ended up decorating 6 plates, with the snail on different parts of them so it looks like he is going around. The lines on the carpet look like trails.
